Bounou

Terms of service

Last updated

The agreement between you and Bounou. Written to be read, and it means what it says.

  1. 01What Bounou is

Bounou issues and administers digital vouchers — meal, service and gift vouchers that an organization assigns to its members or that a member buys, redeemable with participating businesses in Tunisia.

Bounou is not a bank and not a payment institution. A voucher is a contractual entitlement to goods or services from a participating business. It is not money and it is not a deposit.

  2. 02What a voucher is not

It cannot be exchanged for cash, except where Tunisian law requires it.

It works only for the kinds of goods and services it was issued for, and only with businesses that accept that kind. Where it works is shown before you try to use it, not after.

It has an expiry date, shown wherever the voucher is shown.

  3. 03Your account

One account, real details, kept current. You are responsible for what happens under your sign-in, so keep it to yourself and tell us at once if you think somebody else has it.

We may ask you to prove who you are, and for businesses, partners and organizations the law requires us to.

  4. 04If you hold vouchers

Vouchers assigned to or bought by you are yours to redeem within their rules. Redeeming happens at a counter, in person or by code, and that record is what settles the money behind it.

If something goes wrong with an order, you have a claim window. Once it closes the transaction is final, which is what lets the business be paid.

  5. 05If you are a business

You issue order vouchers against real orders and confirm delivery honestly. Payout follows delivery, on the terms of your platform agreement, once the claim window has closed.

Issuing a voucher for an order you have not fulfilled is fraud. We treat it as such, and the record names the person who did it.

  6. 06If you are a partner

Cash you collect on Bounou's behalf belongs to Bounou from the moment you take it. You remit it on the agreed schedule and declare it accurately.

Your collection limit exists so that any single loss stays small. It is not negotiable at the counter.

  7. 07If you are an organization

You assign vouchers to your members and are invoiced on your agreed terms. What you owe is what was assigned, whether or not your members go on to redeem it.

  8. 08What you may not do

Sell or trade vouchers outside the platform.

Use Bounou to launder money or to move value on somebody else's behalf.

Break, probe or overload the system, or work around a limit it puts on you.

Impersonate anybody, or use an account that is not yours.

  9. 09Suspension

We can suspend an account or hold a settlement when we have reason to believe one of the rules above is being broken, or when the law tells us to.

We say why unless we are forbidden to, and we lift it when the reason is gone.

  10. 10Availability

We work to keep Bounou running and we do not promise it never stops. Planned work is announced where we can announce it.

  11. 11What we answer for

The value of your vouchers and the accuracy of the record.

Not the goods and services a business provides — that contract is between you and them — and not indirect losses.

Nothing here limits any liability that Tunisian law does not allow to be limited.

  12. 12Ending it

You can close your account whenever you like. Vouchers already issued keep their own rules until they are redeemed or expire.

We can end the agreement with notice, or immediately where an account is being used for something illegal.

  13. 13Changes

We can change these terms. Material changes are announced by email and on this page before they take effect, and using Bounou after that is accepting them.

  14. 14Law and courts

Tunisian law applies, and the courts of Tunis have jurisdiction.
