Questions and answers.
What employers, members, shops and partner counters ask us, answered from the rules we publish and the contract you sign.
Employers
- What can we order from Bounou?
- Meal vouchers, service vouchers, work clothing, leisure and incentive vouchers, multi vouchers, and gift cards for a named shop. Each kind is spent only where Bounou has cleared a shop for it; a gift card only at the shop named on it.
- How does an order work?
- You place a purchase order in the Bounou console and receive an invoice. Once the order is fulfilled, the vouchers enter your organization's pool and you assign them to your members.
- How do we add our staff?
- By email address: one at a time, by pasting a list, or by importing a file (CSV, with French, English or Arabic column names). Every line of a file is checked before anything is saved. You can sort members into groups — by salary band, for example — so that each group receives its own value.
- Can the same order repeat every month?
- Yes. A recurring order creates the same purchase order every month on the day you choose, sized to each group's headcount at that moment, and can assign the vouchers as soon as the order is fulfilled. Paying the invoice stays a step you take.
- What does Bounou cost an employer?
- A commission added on top of the face value of what you order, and invoiced. Your rate is written in your quote and your contract before you sign, and it is the same rate across Tunisia. VAT applies to the commission only, on its own line; the face value carries neither VAT nor withholding tax.
- Do we pay for vouchers our members never use?
- Yes. What you owe is what was assigned, whether or not your members go on to use it. Each voucher is valid for one year from the day it is issued; value still unused on its expiry date is not refunded and stays with Bounou.
- Do vouchers save income tax?
- No. For your employees, every kind of voucher — meal vouchers included — is salary for income tax (IRPP), withheld through payroll like pay. For you, it is a staff cost, like salary. The only relief is on CNSS contributions, for meal vouchers and for gifts on the occasions the decree lists, within limits.
- How much do meal vouchers save on contributions?
- They are excluded from the CNSS base up to 8.001 TND per meal and per double-shift working day in 2026 — our computation, 3 × the 2026 hourly SMIG of 2.667 TND (Décret n° 2003-1098, article 1er, point 13) — and all excluded benefits together stay within 5% of payroll (article 3). The savings calculator applies both limits.
- Can we limit vouchers to particular restaurants or hours?
- No. Bounou clears each shop for the kinds of voucher it may accept, from what it sells, and that decides where a voucher works. We do not add limits by named shop or by time of day.
- Do our members need a smartphone?
- Yes. Bounou is digital: a member shows a code and approves every amount on their own phone, in the Bounou app or in a browser.
- What do we need to get started?
- An account in the Bounou console, and your company's documents uploaded there. Bounou reviews them before your first order is fulfilled: the law requires us to know every organization we work with.
- What paperwork do we receive?
- A purchase order and an invoice for every order, and a record, member by member, of what was assigned and what was used.
Members
- How do I receive vouchers?
- Your employer assigns them to the email address it has for you. Use that address when you create your Bounou account, in the app or on the web.
- How do I use them in a shop?
- Show your code at the counter. The shop scans it and enters the amount, and you approve that amount on your own phone. The code lives 90 seconds and says only who you are: no code approves an amount on its own.
- Where can I use them?
- Only at shops Bounou has cleared for that kind of voucher, and a gift card only at the shop named on it. The map shows every shop and what it accepts, and the app shows how much of your value works at a shop before you walk in.
- What if my vouchers do not cover the whole bill?
- The shop charges your vouchers for what they cover, and you pay the rest the usual way.
- Can anyone take value from my vouchers without me?
- Nothing leaves your vouchers without you: the shop scans your code, and you approve the amount on your own phone.
- Can I exchange my vouchers for cash, or pass them to someone else?
- No. Vouchers assigned to you are yours to use within their rules. They cannot be exchanged for cash, except where Tunisian law requires it, and they cannot be passed to another person, sold or traded.
- When do my vouchers expire?
- One year after they are issued. The expiry date is shown wherever the voucher is shown. Value still unused on that date is not refunded, extended or converted.
- Are my vouchers taxed?
- Yes. For income tax, vouchers your employer gives you count as salary, and the tax is withheld through payroll with the rest of your pay.
- What is the claim window?
- For an order that is delivered, you have 48 hours after delivery to file a claim if something is wrong. A purchase made at the counter has no claim window.
- If a shop refunds me, what do I get back?
- Vouchers. For a purchase at the counter, the shop makes the refund, and the value returns to your vouchers.
- Can I use my vouchers on a delivery app?
- Only on a delivery app that has signed with Bounou, and only for restaurants that have switched that app on. You approve the order in your Bounou account, seeing each business and its amount; where the app allows it, your vouchers cover part and the app collects the rest.
- Can I buy a gift card?
- Yes, for a shop that sells them — the map marks them. Open the purchase in the Bounou app and pay cash at a partner counter; the card is then in your account.
Shops
- How does my shop join?
- Apply from Bounou Pro or the web console, and upload your documents. Bounou reviews them and clears your shop for the kinds of voucher it may accept, from what your documents show you sell.
- Which vouchers will my shop accept?
- The kinds Bounou cleared you for, shown in your console and on your page on the map; your own gift cards, if you sell them; and multi vouchers, if you are cleared for any kind other than meal. You cannot change the list yourself: a change goes through a new review.
- What equipment do I need?
- A smartphone with Bounou Pro. There is nothing to buy.
- How do I take vouchers at the counter?
- Scan the customer's code in Bounou Pro and enter the amount. The customer approves it on their own phone, and the sale is recorded.
- When am I paid?
- By bank transfer every Wednesday, once what you are owed reaches your minimum: 100.000 TND, or more if you set it higher. The week closes on Tuesday at 23:59, Tunis time, and if Wednesday is a public holiday the transfer goes out the business day before. You can also choose to be paid only when you ask.
- Can I ask for my money before Wednesday?
- Yes. Ask for a transfer of your settled value whenever you like, from the Finance page of the web console or from Bounou Pro. A transfer is at least 100.000 TND. Value still inside an order's 48-hour claim window waits until the window closes.
- Does a transfer cost anything?
- Each transfer costs 2.000 TND at the bank. Below 500.000 TND, that cost comes out of the transfer; from 500.000 TND, Bounou pays it. The rule is the same for the Wednesday transfer and for one you ask for.
- How do you get my bank details?
- You enter your RIB in the web console, and Bounou approves it before any transfer goes to it. A RIB stamped by your bank, uploaded with your documents, makes the approval quicker.
- What does Bounou cost a shop?
- A commission taken from the face value of the vouchers used at your counter; the rest is transferred to you. Your rate is written in your quote and your contract before you sign, and it is the same rate across Tunisia. VAT applies to the commission only, on its own line.
- How do I match a transfer against my bank statement?
- Download the statement from the Finance page of the web console: every movement of what you are owed between two dates, with each transfer under the bank's reference, as a CSV file.
- Can delivery apps send me orders?
- Only the apps you switch on yourself, in your web console's settings, and only apps that have signed with Bounou. An order a member approves settles like a sale at your counter, at your own rate.
- Can I take orders for delivery?
- Yes. Issue an order voucher for the customer's order. The customer covers it with vouchers, or pays cash at a partner counter. Once you have delivered and the 48-hour claim window has closed without a claim, it joins your next transfer.
- How do customers find my shop?
- On the map, where your page shows what you accept. Bounou Pro also makes you a poster with a QR code that leads to that page: open More, then Shop poster.
Partners and kiosks
- What does a partner counter do?
- It takes cash from customers for their voucher orders and confirms each order on the spot in Bounou Pro. A partner earns on every order it confirms.
- What do I need to become a partner?
- A counter, a smartphone with Bounou Pro, and your documents, which Bounou reviews before you start. No hardware, and no stock to print.
- How does a partner earn?
- A share of Bounou's commission on each order you confirm. Your rate is in your contract, and your earnings are in your dashboard.
- Whose cash is it?
- Bounou's, from the moment you take it. You hand it over on the schedule in your contract, and declare it accurately.
- Is there a limit to the cash I can hold?
- Yes. Your collection limit keeps any single loss small, and it is not negotiable at the counter.
- How do I close the day?
- In Bounou Pro: count your drawer and enter the amount — the figure Bounou expects appears only after you do — then list any transfers you have already sent, with the bank reference. A difference is flagged for review; it never stops you trading.
- Can a customer get cash for vouchers at a partner counter?
- No. A partner counter only takes cash in, for orders. Vouchers are not exchanged for cash there.
These answers sit beside your contract and the published rules. Where they differ, your signed contract applies.
